monday's highlights:
1. free (courtesy of coupon) cheese fondue dinner with diana at melting pot this past monday.
| "Wisconsin Trio Cheese Fondue" avec Fontina, Butterkase, Buttermilk Bleu cheeses, white wine, sherry, and scallions |
time of surprisingly good food and unsurprisingly good company. it was a shorter but nevertheless, sweet time. it was sweet b/c i used to perceive "meetups" with diana as a formal 1-hour meeting, a wrestling match with her stubbornly trying to help and be there for me while i tugged against her, stubbornly refusing to let her in. it was sweet b/c now, "meetups" with diana can simply be hanging out. it was such a comfortable and relaxing chill time. no obligations, no strings attached, no facades. just cheese and chillage.
2. had life group on monday since half the group and their moms would be having exams on wednesday. like last week, i wanted to focus on teaching the members how to do a "quiet time" -- worship, personal Bible study regarding John 3.1-17, personal prayer, and intercession. at the end of the Bible study, the members were to look through magazines and cut out pictures for a visual representation of what "being born again" (from the John 3 passage) meant to them. it was such a blessing to see these guys furiously flipping through magazines, clipping pictures, brainstorming a beautiful portrait of the Gospel's transformative work in their lives.
aww. i might be skimping on the length of this post, but there's no skimping on the sweet. the members' presentations were absolutely sweet. sweet because they themselves, not their leaders, not their older bros and sisters, but they themselves were able to verbalize the goodness of God in their own lives and how He has completely changed them. i felt like one of those corny proud moms: seeing them share about how God has changed them was such a beautiful scene. with each person who shared, i was quietly filled with so much thankfulness. God, You love these guys so much, its insane. i hope and pray that the rest of their lives will be filled with so many more collages of how You are forever changing them into deeper followers, knowers, lovers, and servants of Christ.
